Matteson, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Redwood Counseling and Wellness Centre, in Matteson, IL hosted a Harvest Festival on Friday, October 28th, 2011. This enjoyable event offered area families an opportunity to participate in many traditional Halloween activities like face painting, pumpkin decoration, games, crafts and puzzles, desserts and hotdogs free of charge. In addition to all the candy and pumpkins, the adults were able to benefit from products and services offered by a number of local vendors as well as enter drawings for lots of prizes.

Everyone agreed the highlight of the day was the hourly book readings by Motesem Mansur, a published author of three books for children on the topic of Autism. Moe shared firsthand what it is like to live with Autism with the children and parents in attendance. Motesem was recently interviewed by Karen Meyer who is the reporter for the disabilities segment on ABC7 Chicago.

Inviting Matteson and its neighboring communities to attend the Harvest Festival provided Redwood the occasion to inform the public of all the services Redwood Counseling and Wellness Centre has to offer including: individual, couple, family, and group counseling/therapy as well as workshops, seminars and training on a number of mind, body and wellness topics. Licensed therapists at Redwood are in network with many insurance companies. Redwood is a division of Sertoma Centre Inc. which is a nationally-accredited, not-for-profit agency that provides services to over 675 individuals with developmental, physical and emotional disabilities, and/or mental illness.
