Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. A Payne central air-conditioning unit valued at $2600 was reported stolen from a residence in the 500 block of Antietam Street on August 15.

A number of eggs were reported thrown at a residence in the 300 block of Merrimac Street on August 15.

A gray Toshiba laptop computer, a PlayStation game system, and a black 32-inch Dynex flat-screen television were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Hay Street on August 15.

A 26-inch blue and green 15-speed mountain bike valued at $150 and a Craftsman lawnmower valued at $200 were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Westwood Drive on August 16. The lawnmower was found by a village employee in Central Park, 420 Lakewood Boulevard, on August 17. The lawnmower was returned to the owner.

The right front tire of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Illinois Street was reported damaged on August 16.

A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Indianwood Boulevard on August 16.

A black and gray 16-inch BMX boys bicycle valued at $200 was reported stolen from the 200 block of Somonauk Street on August 16.

Approximately $30 worth of copper piping was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Arcadia Street on August 16.

A window of a residence in the 100 block of Nanti Street was reported shattered on August 16.

Gary Dana Jones, 59, 441 Suwanee St., Park Forest, was arrested on August 17 and charged with domestic battery when police responded to the 400 block of Suwanee Street to investigate a domestic battery complaint.

A window of a residence in the 300 block of Winnebago Street was reported shattered on August 17.

A Pioneer CD player valued at $125 was reported damaged when police responded to the 100 block of Birch Street to investigate a report of burglary to a motor vehicle on August 17.

Two vehicles parked in the 200 block of South Orchard Drive were reported vandalized on August 17.

Leonardo Johnson, 40, 719 Blackhawk Dr., University Park, was arrested on August 17 and charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of alcohol, and issued citations charging speeding and illegal transportation of alcohol when an officer observed the vehicle Johnson was driving traveling at a high rate of speed while traveling east on Sauk Trail near Meota Street, according to police.

An iPhone valued at $299 was reported stolen from a business in the 400 block of Sauk Trail on August 18.

Jessie D. Gregory, 22, 109 Nashua St., Park Forest, was arrested on August 18 and charged with domestic battery, aggravated assault, and criminal damage to property when police responded to the 100 block of Nashua Street to investigate a report of domestic battery.

A vehicle parked in the first block of Sauk Court was reported vandalized with spray paint on August 18.

Fifteen catalytic converters valued at $15,000 total were reported stolen from a business in the 2200 block of Western Avenue on August 19.

A juvenile was arrested and issued a municipal citation charging illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor when police were dispatched to the 400 block of Lakewood Boulevard to investigate a suspicious person complaint.

Jimmie D. Sykes, 44, 1934 W. Lawrence Ave., Chicago Heights, was arrested on August 20 and charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Blackhawk Drive in reference to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Alfred L. Mitchell, 43, 145 Blackhawk Dr., Park Forest, was also arrested and charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license, received a citation charging uninsured motor vehicle, and processed on an outstanding no-bond warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections.

A window of a residence in the 300 block of Nokomis Street was reported shattered on August 20.

Two gold Movado wristwatches and one silver Movado wristwatch valued at $1500 total, a Nintendo Wii game system valued at $199, and four miscellaneous Nintendo Wii games valued at $120, are among items reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Todd Street on August 21.

Three vehicles parked in the 500 block of Chase Street were reported vandalized with spray paint on August 21.

A residence in the 500 block of Antietam Street was reported vandalized by spray paint on August 21.

Two loaded handguns, a black S&W Sigma .380 pistol, serial #RAE0312, and a silver Taurus 689 .357 Magnum with a wooden handle, SERIAL #ne955092, were reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Indianwood Boulevard on August 21.

A door of a residence in the 400 block of Titonka Street was reported damaged on August 21. Police observed damage to the wood door around the lock area. The deadbolt had been engaged and entry to the house was not made, according to police.
