Cook County: February 26, 2013 Primary Election Information

Chicago, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Cook County Clerk David Orr reminds voters who are eligible to vote in the primary election that today, February 26, is Election Day.

The Clerk’s office mailed an election notice to 382,466 registered voters who live in jurisdictions with primary contests. If you are unsure if you are eligible to vote, use the Your Voter Information tool on our website to check your sample ballot and find your polling place.

There are 111 candidates, 4 write-in candidates, 38 contests and 1 referendum in suburban Cook County for this primary election. Voters will cast ballots at 436 precincts.

Contests by party

Democratic: 2nd Congressional District; Berwyn Township Supervisor, Assessor & Trustee; Thornton Township Highway Commissioner; Berwyn Treasurer & Alderman Ward 1, 3, 4, 6, 7; Broadview Mayor & Clerk; Calumet City Mayor, Clerk, Treasurer & Alderman Ward 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7; Dolton Clerk & Trustee.

Republican: 2nd Congressional District; Palatine Township Supervisor, Clerk, Highway Commissioner & Trustee.

Action Party: Morton Grove President.

Nonpartisan: Cicero President, Clerk, Supervisor, Assessor, Collector & Trustee; Elgin Councilman.

Election Results: Suburban Cook County election results will be available after polls close at the Clerk’s online results page. Please note the 2nd Congressional District is in Chicago, Suburban Cook County, Will County and Kankakee County; total results must be combined from all jurisdictions. Ballots cast for write-in candidates will not be available until two weeks after the election.
