CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–July 12, 2013. Mayor Rahm Emanuel joined residents today in the West Englewood neighborhood to support the Craftsman “Make a Difference” tour. Their visit to the City of Chicago highlights the tour’s initiative to rebuild the home of veteran, Mack Jones, who served in the Air Force for 12 years during the Vietnam and Korean conflicts.

“Neighborhoods are the fabric of Chicago and so I am incredibly proud to see the residents of West Englewood and Craftsman volunteers come together to help a fellow Chicagoan who has given so much for his country,” said Mayor Emanuel. “Today represents the tremendous desire and teamwork for others to make a difference in our communities.”

Volunteers completing the renovations will make repairs to Mr. Jones’ home including interior painting, the installation of ceiling tiles, landscaping, and other needed improvements. This effort was led by a team effort with Craftsman, Sears Heroes at Home, the Craftsman Club, and the Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago team. By making stops to more than 20 cities for the “Make a Difference” tour, volunteers will make modifications to the homes of military veterans while participating in local restoration projects, disaster relief, and consumer events.
