Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Somonauk Street on November 21 to investigate a report of criminal damage to property. The owner of the property reported coming home to discover items in disarray throughout the home. There was also gang graffiti spray-painted on the walls of a bedroom. Nothing appeared to be missing from the residence. Police discovered an unlocked bedroom window with a white plastic lawn chair located outside and underneath the window which appeared to be the point of entry, according to police.

Jamar Donell Kelly, 36, 461 Titonka St., Park Forest, was arrested on November 21 and charged with possession of cannabis, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving too fast for conditions when an officer patrolling on Shabbona Drive at Titonka Street observed the vehicle Kelly was driving allegedly traveling southbound on Shabbona Drive from Tahoe Street at 40 mph in a posted 30 mph zone, as indicated by the dash mounted radar, according to police.

A DeWalt 18 volt Sawzall valued at $100, a DeWalt angle grinder valued at $100, a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses valued at $300, a telescopic inspection camera valued at $200, and a Ryobi the 18 V impact driver and drill valued at $200 are among items reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Early Street on November 23. Police say a Clarion touch screen radio/TV valued at $1000 was also damaged.

Marquise D. Wilson, 20, 369 Westgate Dr., Park Forest, was arrested on November 24 and issued municipal citations charging possession of cannabis and no front plate when police on patrol observed the vehicle Wilson was driving traveling eastbound on Westgate Drive when the driver allegedly failed to come to a complete stop at the traffic sign at Wilson Street. An officer also observed that the vehicle had tinted windows and no front license plate, according to police.

The basement well window of a residence in the 400 block of Illinois Street was reported shattered on November 25.

The front door of a residence in the 200 block of Todd Street was reported kicked in and left ajar on November 25. Police discovered empty cigar packages on the floor inside but nothing appeared to be missing from the residence.

Richard M. Hay, 40, 1007 Mildred St., University Park, was arrested on November 25 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol over .08 BAC when police were dispatched to Indianwood Boulevard and Monee Road to investigate a report of a reckless driver. Following a 20 minute observation period, Hay was asked to submit a breath sample, and he complied. The test indicated that his Blood Alcohol Content was .220, according to police.

A Sony laptop computer, and Apple Air laptop computer, a 70-inch smart flat-screen television, an Xbox 360, a black Samsung or Toshiba 55-inch flat-screen television, several Xbox games, a white Apple iPad, two mink coats, several pairs of cufflinks, a Gucci book bag, a Gucci duffel bag, an engagement ring, and $600 cash are among items reported stolen during a residential burglary in the first block of Monee Road on November 27. The rear door of the residence showed damage, according to police.

Excel brand clippers valued at $130, Oyster 76 brand clippers valued at $200, two Andis master brand clippers valued at $80 each, two Andis brand OA size blades valued at $30 each, and four Andis magnetic guards valued at $22 each are among items reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Todd Street on November 27. Police believe vehicle was left unlocked.

The rear door of a residence in the 300 block of Oswego Street was discovered to have been forced open on November 27. Nothing appeared to be missing from the residence, according to police.

Anthony N. Plese, 41, 15743 Lapaz Ct., Oak Forest, was arrested on November 28 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, disobeying a stop sign, operating a vehicle with expired registration, and possession of a controlled substance when an officer patrolling in the area of Ottawa Street and Monee Road observed the vehicle Plese was driving allegedly disobey the stop sign located at the intersection of Monee Road at Ottawa Street, according to police. It was at the police station that Plese requested permission to urinate. Because he was still in custody, police say he was escorted to cell #1 so he could urinate. While standing inside the cell next to the toilet, an officer observed Plese allegedly reach under his underpants and retrieved an item from his rectal area. He then took the item and allegedly placed it in his right sock, according to police. Police recovered the item and discovered it to be a small white-rock like substance, suspect cocaine. According to police, an officer field tested the suspect cocaine which field tested positive for the presumptive presence of cocaine, according to police.

Phillip A. Jones, 19, 304 Oakwood St., Park Forest, was arrested on November 28 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to the Park Forest Public Library, 400 Lakewood Boulevard, to investigate a report of a disturbance.
