Congresswoman Duckworth Announces Grant for Substance Abuse and HIV Prevention Awareness at Renz Addiction Counseling Center in Elgin, Illinois


Washington, DC—(ENEWSPF)—August 25, 2014. Today, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-08) announced that the Department of Health and Human Services awarded a $125,000 grant to fund the Informate (Get Informed) project at Renz Addiction Counseling Center in Elgin, Illinois. The Informate Project will offer substance abuse and HIV prevention awareness and education services to high risk Latinos to reduce behaviors that lead to substance abuse and HIV infection.

“I am proud and appreciative of the work that Renz Addiction Counseling Center does for our communities,” said Duckworth.  “I know that this investment will help the Center’s work to serve our community and reach even more of my neighbors.The taxpayers of Illinois contribute more than their fair share to the Federal government and I am pleased to see that resources are coming back to the 8th Congressional District.”
