Bruce Rauner Under Fire for False Statements

Rauner’s “gross, provable, undeniable lies”

Chicago, IL—(ENEWSPF)—August 28, 2014. Today, the Capitol Fax’s Rich Miller blasted Bruce Rauner for a “series of gross, provable, undeniable lies,” the most recent of which regard the candidate’s statements on budget and tax matters.

The statement comes at the same time as Illinois teachers assailed Rauner’s tax plan as a “fraud” and called out Rauner for running “empty, feel-good TV commercials” in order to disguise his plan to “defund and destroy public education.”

In recent days, Rauner has made repeated claims that he will boost education funding and maintain infrastructure spending, despite a tax plan that blows an over $7 billion deficit in the state’s budget.

Rauner’s falsehoods regarding the budget add to a growing pattern of dishonesty.  Rauner has been caught giving false and misleading statements when it comes to his outsourcing record, his Cayman Islands accounts, the clout scandal involving his daughter’s admission to an elite public school, and his support for lowering the minimum wage.

“Illinoisans deserve openness and honesty from Bruce Rauner,” said Neal Waltmire, Communications Director for Illinois Freedom PAC.  “He has given them neither.”
