Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.
An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. "Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted," "Mr. Smith entered a guilty plea," or "All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped." Alex D. Fudge, 28, 354 Niagara St., Park Forest, was arrested on September 3 and charged with one count of endangering the life/health of the child when police responded to the area of Niagara and Oswego Streets in reference to a report of a found child. According to police, a witness saw a two-year-old child walking down the middle of Niagara Street, about to enter the intersection at Oswego Street. Police say Fudge had left the child alone to go run an errand, believing the child was asleep.
Jean A. Montas Jr., 26, 20341 Kedzie Ave., Olympia Fields, was arrested on September 4 and charged with felony aggravated battery to a police officer, as well as domestic battery, obstructing, resisting arrest, and aggravated battery to a police officer when police responded to the 200 block of South Orchard Drive to investigate a report of a domestic dispute.
A juvenile was arrested on September 4 and charged with resisting and disorderly conduct when officers working at Rich East High School were summoned to the cafeteria in reference to a report of a disturbance.
An officer checking a property in the 200 block of Mantua Street on September 4 discovered Windows broken, a rear door kicked in, approximately $700 damage to a water heater, $1200 damage to a furnace, and $600 damage to a refrigerator. The former residence had benefited due to violations of the crime free housing ordinance, according to police. However, police say the residence was secure and undamaged a week prior, after the eviction.
Brandon M. Hosch, 29, 14742 S. Dante Ave., Dolton, was arrested on September 5 and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis and issued traffic citations charging no front plate and one red taillight when an officer on patrol at the intersection of Sauk Trail and Western Avenue observed that the vehicle Hosch was driving had no front registration plate, according to police.
Jason J. Long, 30, 133 Warwick St., Park Forest, was arrested on September 5 and charged with possession of cannabis when an officer on patrol in the area of Warwick Street and Warwick Court around 5:10 AM observed a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Warwick Street occupied by one person who was sleeping in the driver’s seat, according to police.
Police say a residence in the 3400 block of Western Avenue was entered without permission. Police observed damage to a window.
Police say that a mousetrap was discovered inside a dropbox used to collect rent payments at an office in the 100 block of Sycamore Drive on September 5. The mousetrap had been secured to a rent payment. Police are investigating.
A handgun was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Illinois Street on September 5.
A cell phone was reported stolen from a gym locker at Rich East High School on September 5.
A vehicle parked in a lot at Ludeman Center was reported scratched by a key on September 6.
Franklin O. Charles, 68, 151 Main St. Apt. 123, Park Forest, was arrested on September 6 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a report of a disturbance.
Police were dispatched to Family Video, 373 Sauk Trail, on September 6 to investigate a retail theft complaint. Police say a subject was observed taking two DVDs from their cases after breaking the security sensor. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
An officer was dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on September 7 to investigate a report of credit card fraud. A resident told police that while reviewing her bank statement, she noticed several charges on the account that she did not make. Police are investigating.
Police say a suspect or suspects spray-painted gang graffiti on the North side of the old Blackhawk Plaza told. The vandalism was discovered on September 7.
Police were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Indianwood Boulevard on September 7 to investigate a report of battery. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Minocqua Street to investigate a report of robbery on September 7. Upon arrival, police observed a juvenile sitting on the driveway of the residence crying. She told police that three juveniles approached her while she was talking on her iPhone, grabbed the phone from her hand, and fled. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
Matthew E. Johnson-Rudis, 20, 8649 Carriage Lane, Tinley Park, was arrested on September 8 and charged with assault when police were dispatched to the area of Sauk Trail and Orchard Drive to investigate an unlawful use of a weapon complaint. A second individual, Marvin E. Aguilera, 19, 3530 Peoria St., Steger, was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
A wallet was reported stolen from a purse that had been left on a table inside Calvary United Protestant Church, 425 N. Orchard Drive, on September 9.
Anthony Sandifer, 38, 4 Choate Rd., Park Forest, was arrested on September 10 and charged with disorderly conduct when dispatch received a 911 call from Sandifer. When police arrived, Sandifer told them that he wanted to speak with the University Park Police, and that the Park Forest Police Department should drive him there, according to police. Police say Sandifer smelled of an alcoholic beverage and his speech was slurred when he spoke to the officers.
Four tires of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of North Orchard Drive were reported slashed on September 11. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
