Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

Michael White, 20, 278 Dogwood St., Park Forest, was arrested on August 31 and charged with one class X felony count of armed robbery after police were dispatched to the first block of Main Street to investigate a report of robbery. This is an update to a report published in eNews Park Forest last week when police met the victim, who was not wearing a shirt, bleeding from the head, with blood running down his head, covering his face and chest, according to police.

A gray 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, Illinois license 9863270, was reported stolen from the 300 block of South Orchard Drive on September 1.

A resident told police on September 3 that he had received several letters from a collection agency stating he owed $1303.83 for an unknown amount of furniture that was purchased from Value City. The resident told police that he did not purchase any furniture from Value City, nor did he authorize such a purchase.

Several items of jewelry, valued at $800, were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Peach Street on September 5. After investigating, police discovered that the items had been sold to a pawn shop in Stone Park, Illinois. Police have suspect information and are investigating.

Anthony Payne, 24, 747 Red Oak Ln., University Park, was arrested on September 6 and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when an officer observed the vehicle Payne was driving southbound on Western Avenue weaving between lanes, according to police.

A juvenile was arrested on September 6 and processed on a charge of misdemeanor theft of property after an officer was dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department to investigate a report of theft.

Several portions of drywall that were used to secure and insulate a window holding an air conditioner were reported pried from the wall and left on the floor at a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny Street on September 7. Police observed that a side door had been forced open.

Enis C. Jamerson, 63, 4239 W. Hadden Ave., Apt. 1, Chicago, was arrested on September 7 and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis and a citation charging operating a vehicle with expired registration when an officer observed that the vehicle Jamerson was driving southbound on Blackhawk Drive near Minocqua Street had an expired registration, according to police.

Terrance V. Hatley, 22, 21139 Alessandra Dr., Matteson, was arrested on September 8 and issued a citation charging possession of cannabis when police observed a vehicle parked in the parking lot of a closed school in the 300 block of Oswego Street.

A Kahr CW40 .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the first block of Apache Street on September 9.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Indiana Street following a report of an unwanted subject. According to police, the suspect was pounding on the door at the rear of the residence, asking for money and a place to stay. The suspect had previously been told, as a special condition of his bond, to not contact the complainant. Police have suspect information.

A tool bag with miscellaneous tools valued at $200, a Hitachi miter saw valued at $150, a Bosch circular saw valued at $250, a Black & Decker electronic saw valued at $250, a Hitachi jigsaw valued at $300, a craftsman air compressor valued at $400, and a number of drill bits valued at $150 are among items reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Lakewood Boulevard on September 10.

A vehicle reported stolen from the 200 block of Lakewood Boulevard on September 10 was found by police in Richton Park on September 10. According to police, the vehicle was unoccupied, the ignition was running, the driver’s side lock was pulled out of the door, the ignition was completely broken and ripped apart, and the steering wheel panel was peeled off.

A man told police on September 10 that he had received a Facebook message from someone he believed to be a high school classmate who informed him that he had possibly won $150,000 through an online Facebook poker drawing. The man said that he had never entered a drawing, but believed the message to be authentic because he believed it came from someone he knew. He was contacted and instructed to wire transfer $1640 to someone in California, at which time he would be mailed his prize money. The man was then told to send $2800 more, which he advised that he did not have. The man agreed to pay $600. After wiring the $600, which totaled $703 with Western Union fees, the man was advised by Western Union that he was being scammed and advised not to wire transfer any more money. Western Union refunded him the $703, according to police.

An Illinois driver’s license, $120 cash, and an iPhone were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Green Street on September 11.
