Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

A total of 8 tires were reported stolen from vehicles parked at a business in the first block of North Street on February 5.

Police are investigating a suspicious phone call made to Talala School, 430 Talala Street, on February 6. Police have suspect information.

Deontai L. Carter, 21, 530 Normal Ave., Chicago Heights, was arrested on February 6 and charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, possession of cannabis, improper Lane usage, and speeding over the statutory limit when an officer patrolling on Monee Road observed the vehicle Carter was driving cross the center line 3 times while traveling westbound on Monee Road at 38 mph in a 30 mph zone, according to police.

A resident told police on February 6 that she was contacted by the IRS and told that her electronic return for her taxes was rejected due to a previous claim being submitted with her Social Security number. Police are investigating.

Brandy A. Tremble, 25, 2626 Merrigold St., Sauk Village, was arrested on February 7 and charged with one count of criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to the 100 block of 26th Street to investigate a criminal damage to property complaint. According to police, the victim observed Tremble allegedly breaking the front driver’s side window of his vehicle with a silver baseball bat.

Leslie K. Chapman, 42, 23622 S. Kings Rd., Crete, was arrested on February 7 and charged with aggravated driving while license was revoked and aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol. Chapman was also issued citations charging under the influence of alcohol, no valid registration, operating a motor vehicle with no insurance, driving while license was suspended, illegal transportation/possession of alcoholic liquor by a driver, and aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol. An officer patrolling southbound on Western Avenue passing North Street observed that the vehicle Chapman was driving had no registration and, after driving in the far left lane, straddled the middle divider lanes for approximately 20 seconds, according to police.

A juvenile at Rich East High School was charged with disorderly conduct on February 9 after allegedly disrupting a pep rally by running from the stands to the gymnasium floor where he began dancing with the pom-pom girls, according to police. The juvenile was warned not to do so after an assistant principal, having heard a rumor that the juvenile planned to do so, asked a liaison officer to verbally warn the juvenile not to proceed with his plan, according to police.

Anthony Howse (no middle initial), 43, 116 Algonquin St., Park Forest, was arrested on February 9 and charged with resisting a peace officer after police responded to that address upon learning that Howse was wanted by the Hillside Police Department in connection with multiple felony retail thefts. After being charged in Park Forest, Howse was immediately taken into custody by a Hillside police officer.

A window of a business in the 2500 block of Western Avenue was shattered with a landscaping rock on February 10. Police were dispatched to investigate a report of a burglar alarm.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 3400 block of South Western Avenue on February 10 to investigate a criminal damage to property complaint. According to police, unknown subjects had forced open a door of a unit, entered, and defaced several portions of the walls with graffiti. Police are investigating.

A resident told police on February 10 that she had received a bill from a company in the amount of $144.44. She told police she never had any dealings with this company.

A candy red 2010 Chrysler 300, Illinois license plate V798870, was reported stolen from the first block of Rocket Circle on February 11. The vehicle was discovered in Chicago Heights on February 11 at 4 AM at the intersection of Hickory and Division Streets completely engulfed in flames, according to police.

A resident told police on February 11 that her mother received notice from the IRS that her 2014 tax return was rejected because someone had already filed taxes in her mother’s name using her mother’s social security number.

Joshua E. Anderson, 20, 319 Sauk Trail, Park Forest, was arrested on February 12 and charged with obstructing identification, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, driving while license was suspended, speeding over the statutory limit, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle when an officer on patrol observed the vehicle Anderson was driving traveling westbound on Sauk Trail approaching Minocqua Street at 41 mph in a posted 35 mph zone, according to police.

Carl A. Bell, 47, 307 Sheridan St., Park Forest, was arrested on February 13 and charged with felony duty to report a change of address when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Sheridan Street to investigate a neighbor dispute. After investigating, police learned that Bell was a registered sex offender who had not reported a change of address to Park Forest, according to police.

Police were dispatched to a business in the 400 block of Sauk Trail on February 13 to investigate a report of a subject who displayed a handgun while in the drive through. Police have suspect information and are investigating.

A door of a residence in the 3300 block of Western Avenue was reported kicked so hard that the kicks caused the door to completely break from the frame. The report was made on February 14 and police have suspect information.

A sliding glass door of a residence in the 23400 block of South Western Avenue was reported shattered on February 15.

Jesse J. Johnson, 21, 504 Henderson Ave., Joliet, was arrested on February 15 and charged with possession of cannabis and possessing alcoholic liquor within the passenger area of a vehicle when an officer patrolling in the area of Lincoln Highway and Indiana Street observed the vehicle Johnson was driving eastbound on Lincoln Highway pass Indiana Street in the center lane, according to police. After investigating, the officer learned that the registration on the vehicle belonged on a different car. The vehicle was seized per local ordinance. After performing a custodial search of Johnson, police discovered that he had $9472.27 cash on his person. The currency was sealed in an envelope and placed into evidence, according to police.

A white Samsung Galaxy S4 was reported stolen from the top of a desk in a classroom at Rich East High School on February 16.

A bathroom sink and toilet at a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny Street were reported damaged by unknown persons on February 18.
