Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

Jason R. Velazquez, 18, 239 Allegheny St., Park Forest, was arrested on February 13 and charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of cannabis when police conducted an investigation into an incident that occurred in the 200 block of Allegheny Street regarding an aggravated discharge of a firearm. Upon executing a search warrant, police discovered a fired projectile recovered in the southwest corner of the family room, bullet jacketing recovered from the floor in the kitchen, and a fired projectile recovered from the north attic near the east bedroom, according to police.

Brian K. Turner, 21609 Governors Highway, Apt. 249, Matteson, was arrested on February 13 and charged with disorderly conduct when police responded to a business in the 400 block of Sauk Trail to investigate a report of a subject who displayed a handgun while in the drive through.

Police were dispatched to the first block of Westwood Court in reference to a premise exam where a resident told them she heard noises coming from her backyard. Police discovered a screen that appeared to have been cut with a knife. Police are investigating.

A window of a residence in the 300 block of Meota Street was reported shattered on February 23.

Paul Jasinevicius, 58, 351 Osage St., Park Forest, was issued municipal citations on February 23 charging cats running at large when police conducted a premise exam at 351 Osage Street in reference to a follow-up for a previous incident. police discovered 4 dishes left on the front porch of the residence, two containing what appeared to be left over cat food, the other two containing what appeared to be water. While standing on the front porch, one officer could smell a strong, overwhelming odor of cat urine, according to police. Jasinevicius had previously been given verbal warning on January 27, 2015, that any outdoor sheltering and all feeding of stray cats had to stop, according to police.

Devarus T. McKinley, 31, 338 Crandon Ave., Calumet City, was arrested on February 24 and issued citations charging possession of liquor on a public way and under the influence of alcohol on a public way when police were dispatched to Park Forest Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive, in reference to a report of an intoxicated subject.

Police discovered a vandalized street sign in the 200 block of Allegheny Street on February 26.
