Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

The taillights of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Fir Street were reported shattered on May 13. Police have suspect information and are investigating.

While checking out her credit report, a resident told police that she discovered that her credit had been checked by an agency that reports credit scores of potential tenants to renters. The resident told police that she had not applied to rent any apartments. She also noticed a Comcast account had been opened in her name and was in collections for the amount of approximately $1600. Police are investigating.

Two juveniles were issued municipal citations charging theft when police responded to Rich East High School during a fire alarm. A student reported that her pink iPhone 5C, which had been plugged into an outlet in the cafeteria, was missing.

A resident told police that he received a bill from a collection agency in the amount of $121 regarding a DirecTV account that he had never opened. The report was filed on May 19.

The front side passenger window of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Minocqua Street was reported shattered by a brick on May 19.

A refrigerator valued at $1000 was reported stolen from a residence in the 3400 block of Western Avenue on May 19.

Lyda Paige, 27, 5 Monee Court, Park Forest, was arrested on May 20 and issued citations charging failure to wear a safety belt, driving with a suspended license, and no insurance when an officer conducting seatbelt traffic enforcement in a parking lot in the 2500 block of Western Avenue observed a driver not wearing a safety belt. The driver was later identified as Paige, according to police.

Jeffery Wilcox, 43, 3358 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on May 20 and charged with retail theft when police were dispatched to a business in the first block of Main Street to investigate a report of retail theft.

A length of copper piping was reported stolen from an outdoor air conditioning unit in the first block of Marquette Street on May 20.

Meghan Allen, 177 E. Sycamore Dr., Apt. 311, Park Forest, was arrested on May 21 and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis, less than 10 g, after an officer observed that the vehicle Allen was driving disobeyed a stop sign at Westgate Drive and Wilson Street, according to police.

Kari K. Marksteiner, 38, 348 Oakwood St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 22 and charged with retail theft when police were dispatched to a business in the first block of Main Street to investigate a complaint of retail theft.

The windshield of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Allegheny Street was reported damaged with several cracks on May 23.

A front picture window of a residence in the first block of Westwood Drive was reported shattered on May 23. A witness reported seeing approximately 20 subjects running east on Westwood from the scene, according to police. Police are investigating.

Police responded to a residence in the 23400 block of Western Avenue on May 24 to investigate a possible residential burglary. A resident had returned home to discover a bedroom window screen on the ground and the glass window open. Upon investigating the interior of the residence, police discovered that the couch had been slashed open, the walls and floors had barbecue sauce, marinara sauce, eggs, and other liquids on them, a television in the bedroom was broken, all of the dressers were pushed over and the contents of the drawers were thrown about. Nothing appeared to be missing, according to police. Police are investigating.

A flat-screen television and two wedding rings were reported stolen during a residential burglary in the 100 block of Blackhawk Drive on May 25.
