Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

A resident in the first block of Fir Street told police on May 20 that she received a letter from the Ohio Department of Taxation informing her that someone had filed a 2013 Ohio individual income tax return using her name and Social Security number.
Officers were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on May 26 to investigate a report of fraud. A resident told police that she attempted to use her bank card and discovered that there were insufficient funds in her account. She discovered unknown charges equaling an amount of $333. Police are investigating.
A resident told police on May 28 that he received a bill in the mail from Verizon Wireless in the amount of $98.84. The resident reported that he never had an account with Verizon Wireless. Police are investigating.
Daniel Simmons, 20, 205 Early St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 29 and charged with driving while license was suspended, no rear registration plate light, and possession of cannabis when an officer patrolling in the area of Western Avenue near Sauk Trail observed that the vehicle Simmons was driving southbound on Western Avenue had no rear registration plate light, according to police.
A purse stolen from a vehicle possibly parked in the 100 block of South Orchard Drive on May 30 was found on the North side of Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive, with contents of the purse scattered on the ground.
Maurice A. Dunn, 55, 2744 Poplar Ln., Crete, was arrested on May 30 and charged with felony driving while license was revoked, and issued citations charging speeding and no proof of insurance when an officer patrolling at Western Avenue and Fir Street observed that the vehicle Dunn was driving northbound on Western Avenue was traveling at a high rate of speed, 50 mph in a 35 mph zone, according to police.
A window in the first block of East Rocket Circle was reported shattered on May 30.
A red Weber charcoal grill valued at $30 was reported stolen from the porch of a residence in the 100 block of 26th Street on May 30.
A gray 2006 GMC SVU, Illinois license A150074, was reported stolen from the 200 block of Minocqua Street on June 1. According to police, the owner was leaving for work at 5:30 AM, had started the vehicle when he realized that he left his work belt inside of the house. He returned to the residence to retrieve the belt, leaving his car running. When he exited his residence, he saw a male subject wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. The subject drove the vehicle west on Minocqua and turned right, heading north on Shabbona Drive, according to police.
A juvenile was arrested on June 1 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Indianwood Boulevard to investigate a battery complaint.
