Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The Park Forest Police Department issued a press release regarding reports of shots fired Sunday morning in the area of Marquette and Mohawk Streets.
According to the release, police responded at approximately 4:42 AM on March 18, 2012, after neighbors reported the sound of shots being fired. Responding units heard four more shots after arriving in the area, the release said. Further investigation revealed that the shots had come from 233 Marquette, the release said. Numerous attempts were made to contact the occupants of 233 Marquette with negative results, the release said.
The South Suburban Emergency Response Team (SSERT) was requested and activated. Park Forest detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence, the release said. Aat approximately 8:25 AM, members of the SSERT were able to get four occupants of the residence to voluntarily exit without incident, according to the release. Numerous shell casings were recovered at the scene along with a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol, according to the release.
The four subjects were taken to the Park Forest Police Department for further investigation.
"Two people from the house were charged with keeping a disorderly house," Deputy Chief Mike McNamara told eNews Park Forest Monday. "We expect charges to be filed later today on the two actual shooters. Those charges will come from the State’s Attorney’s Office."
