 2015 nursing honor society
CHICAGO HEIGHTS–(ENEWSPF)–March 16, 2015.  Prairie State College (PSC) recently inducted seven nursing students into the Alpha Chapter of the Organization of Associate Degree Nursing Alpha Delta Nu Honor Society. The inductees were honored during a special ceremony held this month in the Conference Center at the PSC main campus.

The class of 2015 inductees are Melissa C. Cole of University Park, Elizabeth A. Ebeywa of Glenwood, Tonya R. Jackson of Flossmoor, Rebecca K. Kraus of Beecher, Torie K. Nicholas of Oak Forest, Joyce M. Usher of Steger and Cory R. Williams of Glenwood.

The PSC honor society became the model for the now national organization after its first induction ceremony in 2000. In spring 2011, PSC became the Alpha Chapter of the Illinois Organization of Associate Degree Nurses Alpha Delta Nu Honor Society, and in fall 2012 was named the Alpha Chapter of the National Organization of Associate Degree Nurses Alpha Delta Nu Honor Society.

The society’s purpose is to recognize academic excellence, promote scholarship and to facilitate interest in the profession of nursing. A student must have at least a 3.0 GPA in nursing and at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA in all courses to become a member of the society at the beginning of his or her sophomore year.

“We are very proud of all that these students have already established in their educational career,” said PSC Vice President Marie Hansel. “We look forward to the many things we are sure they will accomplish as students at PSC and beyond.”
