League of Women Voters of the Park Forest Area

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– The League of Women Voters of the Park Forest Area LWVPFA announces a new, improved website www.lwvpfa.org.   Go there to learn about the League, the local league's event schedule, and how to join!

About the League

The League of Women Voters of the Park Forest Area is a nonpartisan political education and action organization welcoming all women and men interested in promoting responsible government at any level. We study issues, get to know public officials, observe at public meetings, register and educate voters, and present candidate forums as well as other informative programs of interest to the public. The informational and educational programs are open to the public.  By joining you'll receive notice of meetings via the newsletter, participate in the League's efforts to have good government, and help your community!  You’ll also have the opportunity to learn and be involved at the county, state, or national level as well.  For information contact the president or membership chair via our website.

Recent local programs have included candidate forums, a study of Holding Two Public Offices Simultaneously, the annual House Tour, and celebrations of Women’s History Month, including the first Black and White Gala and University Park Woman of the Year.   In April we will have our annual film showing, Thursday April 30, 2009, at 6:30 pm we’ll show “Who Killed the Electric Car?” at the Park Forest Public Library.
