Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. Jontae Gray, 22, 2909 Buttonwood Walk, Hazel Crest, was arrested on June 17 and charged with obstructing identification and issued state citations charging driving with registration suspended for a mandatory insurance violation, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving while license was suspended. Officer Sweitzer was on patrol in the area of Illinois and Indiana Streets when he noticed a vehicle stopped in the intersection. The officer asked the driver if she needed assistance when she related that she was going to a friends house, just remembered where the house was, and drove away. The officer checked the registration and learned that the registration was suspended on a mandatory insurance violation.

Two laptop computers were reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Lakewood Boulevard on June 24.

Christopher L. Branch, 32, 3781 W. 187th Pl., Country Club Hills, was arrested on June 25 and charged with violation of an order of protection and processed on two active Cook County warrants when police received an anonymous phone call stating that Branch was seen in the 200 block of Dogwood Boulevard.

A white 80-pound Everlast punching bag with chain attached, a red and gray mountain bike and a gas-powered red minibike were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Hay Street on June 25. Police determined that entry had been made to a garage through a window.

Three diamond rings with yellow gold, one yellow gold chain and one pair of yellow gold ball-shaped earrings were reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Indiana Street on June 25. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of Early Street in reference to an animal complaint. The owner of a dog told police that his dog had escaped his yard and bit his neighbor’s dog. The owner of the dog that was bitten said she did not want to press criminal charges, simply wanted payment for veterinarian bills. Estimates of veterinary services total between $1,978 and $2,190.

An unknown person(s) threw a brick through a first floor window of a residence in the 200 block of Arcadia Street on June 27.

A black 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix, Illinois registration K383869, was reported stolen from the first block of Ash Street on June 27.

Police recovered a "metal projectile" from inside an interior wall of a residence in the 300 block of Wilshire Street after they were dispatched to investigate a report of reckless discharge of a firearm on June 28. A resident called police that she was in her bedroom on the upper level of the residence when she heard a loud bang, similar to a gun being fired.

Deshaun D. Harris, 19, 403 Niagara St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 28 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Arrowhead Street to investigate a report of a fight in progress.

A red Next bicycle with a black seat, valued at $100, was reported stolen from outside the Park Forest Aqua Center on June 29. The bike had been left unsecured.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Tahoe Street on June 29 to investigate a report of an attempted burglary. A resident reported hearing strange noises coming from the rear of the house. When she went to the rear of the residence, she observed the silhouette of a person standing on a ledge of the window, talking at the window, and a second silhouette standing near the window. She said one of the subjects walked to the front of a house and opened the screen door. She described one of the subjects as being approximately 12-13 years of age, 4’11" to 5’0", 110 pounds. Police continue to investigate.

Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny Street on June 30 in response to a report of several gunshot rounds fired through the front wall of a residence. Police were unable to locate any suspects.

A car parked in the 400 block of Rutledge Street was reported vandalized on June 29.  Police observed long scratches along the driver’s side front and rear doors and two long scratches on the rear spoiler.  The passenger side front window had the word "Love" and the passenger rear window the word "This" scratched into the glass.  Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

A 50-inch black Panasonic plasma television and a 13-inch MacBook were reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Niagara Street on June 29.

Police were dispatched to the first block of North Arbor Trail on June 30 to investigate a report of domestic battery. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

A purse was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the Park Forest Aqua Center parking lot on June 30.

A vehicle parked in the 200 block of Arrowhead Street was reported being damaged by a pipe or baseball bat on June 30. Police observed damage to the vehicle.

Tonia D. Johnson, 43, 805 W. Main St., Carbondale, IL, was arrested on June 30 and charged with obstructing the right-of-way and resisting/obstructing a peace officer when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Allegheny Street in reference to a report of a disturbance.

A gray 2005 Dodge Magnum, Illinois license 7181985, was reported stolen from the first block of South Arbor Trail on July 2.
