Police: Ash Street Resident Beaten Unconscious While Walking Home From East Gate


Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- An Ash Street resident told police he was beaten unconscious by four men while walking home from the East Gate neighborhood a week ago Sunday.

Police say he had the bruises to prove it.

Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Ash Street on August 21 to investigate a battery that had just occurred.

The victim told police that he was attacked while walking from a friend’s house in East Gate. According to police, the man was walking through East Gate Park when he was approached by four unidentified male subjects. The man told police they asked him, "Where you from," and "Who you know." The man told them he was not from East Gate and the subjects began to punch him.

The man told police the four repeatedly kicked and punched him in the head until he was unconscious.

He woke lying on the ground with no one around. He walked to a neighbor’s residence on Ash Street and the neighbor called police.

Police observed that the victim was disoriented and had visible swelling to the right and left sides of his head.

Police are investigating.
