Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–March 18, 2013. Today, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth announced her co-sponsorship of the ABLE Act. The legislation would ease financial strains on individuals with disabilities by making tax-deferred savings accounts available to cover expenses such as education, housing, and transportation.
“Disabled Americans deserve every opportunity to achieve their dreams,” said Duckworth. “The bipartisan ABLE Act would allow disabled Americans to invest in saving accounts without having it count against their federal benefits. The ABLE Act encourages those with disabilities to invest in their futures and live fulfilling lives and I urge Congress to pass this legislation as soon as possible.”
