CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL—(ENEWSPF)—July 23, 2013. The Drama Group is proud to be staging as the final production of our 2012-2013 season the classic TONY award winning musical WEST SIDE STORY. Performances will be held at the Drama Group Studio Theatre on August 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 at 7:30pm and August 4 and 11 at 2pm. The Studio Theatre is located at 330 W. 202nd Street, Chicago Heights, Illinois.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $19.00 for seniors and $15 for students with ID. Group discount rates are also available. Good seats are still available for some performances, however, due to brisk advance sales, rather than waiting to purchase at the door, it is recommended to call the Drama Group box office at (708) 755-3444 for advance sales or go to our online ticket sales at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/profile/242073.

A special interest – in keeping with our “Community Outreach” program this year, the 2nd Thursday evening performance will raise money to donate to local agencies who work to raise awareness in the area to combat gang violence and racial intolerance. We hope to have a “special guest” that evening.

For directions and other information regarding Drama Group activities, please visit our Web site at www.dramagroup.org. There is limited handicap seating. Please call the Drama Group box office for details.

West Side Story is the updated, star-crossed retelling of the classic romantic tragedy of Romeo & Juliet. But rather than feuding families in Italy, the story unfolds around two warring gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, set against the grimy backdrop of New York City. Their hatred escalates… a rumble ensues… and the lovers, it all goes horribly, horribly wrong.
