Marian Catholic High School Awards 55 Academic Letters for 4.0 GPAs

Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Marian Catholic High School awarded 55 Academic Letters to sophomores, juniors, seniors at the annual Academic Letter Breakfast on Thursday, October 23, 2014. The Academic Letter is awarded to a student who receives 4.0 or higher grade-point average in two consecutive semesters.

Students from Park Forest honored include Jared Rogers and Anna Pechtel.

Current senior recipients included John Adducci (Homewood), Sarah Andoh (Crete), Nicholas Brown (Steger), Yutong Mina Cai (Frankfort), Ibrahim Ghazaleh (Lansing), Rebecca Hauser (Crete), Madeline Huekels (Dyer), Corrine Jackson (Olympia Fields), John Rodolfo Powers (Lynwood), Frank Raymond (Monee), Aliya Rodriguez (Olympia Fields), Jared Rogers (Park Forest), Lisette Villarreal (Steger), Stephanie Wisniewski (Beecher) and Yi Carol Zhou (Frankfort).

Junior class honorees were Juan Arellano (South Chicago Heights), Tristan Augustine (Chicago), Krista Bozacki (Schererville), Joshua David (Dyer), Luke Davis (St. John), Anna Grzybowski (Chicago Heights), Ethan Osuch (Steger), Mikayla Panton (Country Club Hills), Liam Quinn (Flossmoor), Nicole Robinson (St. John), Meghan Schmidt (Dyer), Vincent Valbuena (Flossmoor) and Jinghui Emma Zhou (Frankfort).

“We are pleased to honor students who have earned a grade point average of 4.0 and above for two consecutive semesters,” said Dr. Shirley Morris, Assistant Principal of Academics. “These students have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Marian’s rigorous academic program which prepares them for the global environment.”

Presented each fall, the six-inch "M" Letters have been awarded to more than 1,300 students since the program began in 1994.
