Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

Four burner tops for a kitchen oven were reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Dunlap Road during a residential burglary on November 25.
A purse was reported stolen from a park in the 300 block of Marquette Street after the owner, who was walking her dog, lost control of the leash to her dog, set her purse down to retrieve her dog, and, after returning about 10 minutes later, discovered that the purse was gone.
Police responded to investigate a report of a suspicious auto in the back yard of a residence in the 300 block of Somonauk Street on November 29. Police discovered three women inside the residence, one of whom said she used to rent the residence. She had returned to get items that she left behind, but did not have a key to the residence, and had gained entry by forcing open a window. Police are attempting to contact the homeowner regarding possible criminal charges.
Jermaine D. Weathersby, 23, 1011 Richton Rd., Richton Park, was arrested on November 30 and charged with driving while license was suspended, improper display of a license plate, misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon, and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when officers patrolling westbound on Cedar Street approaching Western Avenue observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Western Avenue without a rear registration plate, according to police.
A silver 2001 Chevrolet Impala, Illinois license plate Z469864, was reported stolen from the 300 block of Sioux Street on December 1.
Police were dispatched to a business in the first block of South Orchard Drive on December 1 to investigate a report of a disturbance. An employee stated that a customer threw a tube of Chapstick at the employee, striking the employee in the head. Police are investigating.
Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Farragut Street on December 2 in reference to a report of criminal trespass to residence. A member of a management group discovered that the front door was damaged and unsecured. Further, the employee noticed that the vent pipe attached to the water heater in the basement was unscrewed, but there was no damage to the water heater and nothing was missing from the residence. Police are investigating.
A debit card, a cell phone valued at $499, and approximately four dollars cash were reported stolen from a residence in the first block of McGarity Road on December 2. Police suspect two men who were guests at the residence.
A resident told police on December 3 that she saw a Samsung 75-inch television advertised on Amazon.com for $2100. Upon contacting the seller, the resident was advised that the only way to pay for the item would be to use Amazon gift cards. She was told to buy the Amazon gift cards and send pictures of the cards to the seller via email when she returned home. The woman did this and was told the next day that the codes were already redeemed by someone, but not by the seller. She contacted Amazon.com and was advised that she was the victim of a scam. She was directed to go to local law enforcement to file a report. Police are investigating, as is Amazon.com.
The passenger side tires of a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Nokomis Street were reported slashed on December 4.
A purse was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the first block of Ash Street on December 4.
Raesha P. Alexander, 28, 1727 Peoria Rd., Springfield, IL, was arrested on December 4 and issued a local ordinance ticket charging possession of cannabis and a traffic citation charging failure to yield at an intersection, when an officer observed the vehicle Alexander was driving westbound on Mantua Street towards Minocqua Street allegedly proceed through the intersection where there was a yield traffic sign without slowing down or making an effort to yield prior to proceeding through the intersection, according to police.
Latrina L. Pointer, 26, 321 Gentry St., Park Forest, was arrested on December 4 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Gentry Street in reference to a report of battery.
A cell phone was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Ash Street on December 4. The owner of the vehicle is unsure as to whether or not the vehicle was locked.
A flashlight valued at three dollars was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the first block of Elm Street on December 4.
A rifle style BB gun was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Krotiak Road on December 4.
A 60-inch LED flat-screen Samsung television valued at $1200, a Toshiba Satellite laptop computer valued at $500, and a Samsung Note valued at $300 are among items reported stolen during a residential burglary in the 200 block of Dogwood Street on December 4. Entry was gained to the residence by breaking out a window of the front door, according to police.
James E. Burks Jr., 23, 23433 S. Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on December 5 and charged with retail theft when an officer conducting a business check at a business in the first block of Main Street was advised by employees that a male subject who allegedly stole items from the store an hour earlier had returned, according to police.
A phone charger and a cup holder containing approximately $10 worth of change plus some dollar bills was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Lakewood Boulevard on December 6. According to police, the vehicle had been locked using a remote but one or two of the doors may not have locked properly.
A vehicle traveling northbound on Western Avenue from Steger Road on December 6 was struck in the windshield by what police believe to be a pellet gun. The windshield cracked, according to police.
