Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

Kaizon L. Grady, 19, 200 Wilson St., Park Forest, was arrested on February 23 and charged with one count of felony aggravated battery (great bodily harm) following an incident where officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Indianwood Boulevard on February 5.

A resident told police on February 24 that she had ordered an Uber from where she was working to take her home to Park Forest. The driver arrived at 4:05 PM and she arrived at her residence at approximately 4:30 PM. Once inside her residence, she realized that she had left her purse in the Uber driver’s vehicle. She contacted the driver who stated that he did not see the purse in the vehicle. Police are investigating.

Anthony D. Ballard, 56, 1410 Wentworth Ave., Calumet City, was arrested on February 28 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, alcohol concentration in breath over .08, and speeding, when an officer observed the vehicle Ballard was driving turn from eastbound Sauk Trail to northbound Western Avenue at what appeared to be a high rate of speed, according to police. The officer activated the squad car’s dash-mounted radar which indicated that the vehicle was traveling at 45 mph and increasing speed, according to police. The officer observed the vehicle as it increased speed to 53 mph, passing the officer’s squad car. The officer activated the emergency lights and siren and curbed the vehicle as it stopped near Western Avenue and Main Street. This happened at approximately 12:44 AM, according to police. At 1:47 AM, Ballard submitted to a breath test, resulting in a BAC reading of .104, according to police.

Jimmy D. Sorrell, 53, 528 Circle Dr., University Park, was arrested on February 28 and charged with assault, battery, and driving under the influence of alcohol, when officers responded to the area of Western Avenue and Sycamore Drive in reference to a motorist assist. Upon arrival, a female subject was standing on the curb and a male subject was sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle attempting to drive the car out of a ditch. The entire front portion of the vehicle was smashed, according to police, and officers traced tire tracks from the road all the way up to an electric pole that the vehicle had crashed into, according to police.

Police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 200 block of Berry Street on the morning of February 28. A woman told police that an unknown subject or subjects had taken her money while she was asleep at the address to which officers responded. She told police that approximately $250 had been stolen. Police are investigating.

Dominique P Lemons, 22, 18223 Hart Dr., Apt. 4A, Homewood, and Kenneth C. Morris, 23, 417 Watseka St., Park Forest, were arrested on February 29 and charged with possession of cannabis when police were dispatched to the first block of McCarthy Road in reference to a report of a suspicious person. Dispatch advised that the complainant observed a car parked in the back of the driveway of a residence which was known to be vacant, according to police. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle parked in the driveway of the vacant residence occupied by four male subjects. The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded per village ordinance, according to police.

An officer was on patrol traveling westbound on Marquette Street from Minocqua Street due to numerous reports of vehicles in the area with window damage when the officer discovered the vehicle with the shattered window.

Jonathan T. Rogers, 19, 191 Ash St., Park Forest, was arrested on March 1 and issued a municipal ticket charging possession of cannabis when police responded to the 200 block of Ash Street in reference to a report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle in which Jones and two passengers had been sitting was administratively seized and impounded, per local ordinance.

Vince S. Reeves, 44, 214 Nashua St., Park Forest, was arrested on March 2 and charged with criminal trespass to residence after an officer traveling southbound on Blackhawk Drive observed a vehicle allegedly speeding, according to police. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Blackhawk Drive at a speed of 40 mph in a 30 mph zone, according to police. Upon identifying Reeves, the driver, the officer informed him that he is currently wanted by the Park Forest Police Department on a charge of criminal trespass to residence.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Dogwood Street on March 3 in reference to a report of an unknown subject knocking on the complainant’s door. Upon arrival, officers checked the area and were unable to locate anyone outside. Officers observed footprints leading towards the residence and footprints leading away from the residence that were spread apart as if someone were running. While checking the exterior of the house, an officer located two holes in the dining room window of the residence which were consistent with that of a BB projectile. On the upper left-hand corner was an additional hole which was approximately the size of a golf ball. Police are investigating.

A red 2015 Dodge Challenger, Illinois license plate Z119531, was reported stolen from the first block of Ash Street on March 3. Police have suspect information and are investigating. The theft does not appear to have been random, according to the report.

Christopher M. Jones, 38, 527 W. 16th Pl., Chicago Heights, was arrested on March 3 and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when an officer on patrol traveling northbound on Western Avenue near Algonquin Street observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Western Avenue at what appeared to be a high rate of speed, according to police. The officer activated his in-car dash mounted radar unit that indicated that the vehicle was traveling at 48 mph in the posted 35 mph zone, according to police.
