Sierra Club to Senate Debating Supreme Court Vacancy: #DoYourJob

WASHINGTON, D.C. –(ENEWSPF)–March 10, 2016.  On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee will debate on whether to hold a hearing on a Supreme Court nomination opened by the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
In response, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune released the following statement:
“It’s unacceptable for the U.S. Senate to waste taxpayer dollars and everyone’s time debating whether Senators should actually do their jobs. The American people fully expect the Senate to do its job, fulfill its constitutional duty, and act on a nomination to fill the Supreme Court vacancy. On the line is nothing less than the clean air, clean water, and climate action safeguards that we have fought for decades to secure.”
