CHICAGO—(ENEWSPF)—April 11, 2016. The Lake Calumet Vision Committee is sponsoring its 5th Annual Earth Day Hike on Friday, April 22. This will be a unique opportunity to explore the area around Lake Calumet on the “secured” property of the Illinois International Port District. Join us to view the hoping-to-be acquired 282 acres that is being planned for hiking, fishing, boating, birdwatching, and other nature activities as part of the Millennium Reserve Initiative.
We will meet at the Harborside Golf Course Club House (east bldg.), 11001 S. Doty Avenue East, Chicago (I-94 at 111th Street).
There will be a briefing on the Millennium Reserve at 8:30 a.m. and a narrated tour begins at 9:15 a.m.
Wear sturdy shoes, and dress for the weather. Bring your own lunch, or enjoy a meal at the Club House afterwards.
