Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–October 11, 2016. After Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) excused Donald Trump’s grotesque comments about women because he’s “an entertainer,” NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina Executive Director Tara Romano released the following statement:
“Contrary to what Sen.Burr and Donald Trump seem to think, sexual assault is a serious issue and a crime regardless of who commits it. The fact that Sen. Burr continues to look out for his own political interests instead of standing up to Trump should disqualify him from this race. North Carolina families deserve a leader who makes respect for women a cornerstone of her platform and that leader is clearly Deborah Ross.”
