Trump’s lies and personal attacks don’t fool voters

WASHINGTON, DC –(ENEWSPF)–October 20, 2015.  At last night’s final presidential debate Hillary Clinton showed not only why she will win on Nov. 8, but why she will be a great president for working families and for all Americans.

“This debate was no contest,” said Mary Kay Henry, International President of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). “Secretary Clinton rose above Donald Trump’s lies and personal attacks, and laid out her plans to build a better future for working families. As First Lady Michelle Obama said, ‘When they go low, we go high.’ That’s exactly what Hillary Clinton did tonight. She displayed the vision and values we need in a president. Hillary Clinton was the only president on the stage tonight. The future of our country needs a leader like her.”

As we saw in the first two debates, Donald Trump has no real plans for America’s future. He leans on personal attacks and can’t back up anything he says with facts. He  once again showed he is temperamentally unfit to be president. Hillary Clinton shined again by talking about her proven track record of leadership and has solid plans that will move our economy and our democracy forward. Hillary Clinton laid out her vision for our country and the values that drive her agenda, while Donald Trump delivers nothing but hot air.

“This year’s election is so important for working families. As a home care provider, I know how important it is that our seniors get the quality care they deserve,” said Brenda Jackson, a SEIU member and home care provider from Oakland, California who attended tonight’s debate. “I support Hillary Clinton because she supports me and other home care workers. She has a plan to lift up wages and continue Obamacare. Trump on the other hand won’t support us and we will lose so much of what we have already fought for and won,” she continued. During the 2012 election campaign, a close friend of Jackson’s was killed in a car accident while working to re-elect President Obama. “I know she would be standing with me today if she were still alive. I knock to elect Hillary because my friend is no longer here,” Jackson said.

From now to Election Day, Brenda Jackson and thousands of other SEIU members around the country will be out in force, talking to voters about the stakes in this election and why Hillary Clinton is the right choice for working families.
