Hundreds of Thousands of Doors are being Knocked on by Veterans in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, in Support of Hillary Clinton and Senate Candidates

Washington, DC –(ENEWSPF)–November 1, 2016.  Veterans and military families are currently leading a massive on-the-ground direct voter contact effort in three key battleground states. The initiative organized by VoteVets — the largest progressive group of veterans in America — and For Our Future — plans to knock on more than 200,000 doors in Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio by Election Day.

“Early on, when the Republican Party handed the reins of power to Donald Trump, we swore we would do everything we could to ensure that every voter knows how dangerous he is, and how he would leave millions and millions of American veterans high and dry,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran, and Chairman of VoteVets.org. “We’re now making good on that promise. Additionally, we’re out there making the case that if you’re not standing up against Donald Trump, then you’re with him.”

“We are proud to have partnered with VoteVets on creating the biggest veterans and military family canvass ever — covering more than 200,000 doors across three states,” said Amanda Brown, For Our Future’s Campaign Director. “Our mission has been to serve as conduits for shared experiences and important conversations between veterans and military families about the high stakes of this election and the issues that matter most to them.”

Here are the activities in each state:

Florida

Over 40 vets and military family members are organizing the community to support Hillary Clinton and Patrick Murphy for Senate. By Election Day, the team will have knocked on over 70,000 doors in West Palm Beach County to discuss the election and how Donald Trump is unfit to be commander-in-chief, and how Hillary Clinton has a plan to take care of vets and their families.

Pennsylvania

In Philadelphia, more than 40 veterans and military family members have been organizing the community to support Hillary Clinton and Katie McGinty for Senate. By Election Day, they will have knocked on over 70,000 doors in the Philadelphia-area to discuss the stakes of the election and how Donald Trump is unfit to be commander-in-chief. They also underscore how Pat Toomey has cowardly refused to disavow Trump and how Hillary Clinton and Katie McGinty will take care of vets and their families.

Ohio

By Election Day, a team of 45-Ohio based veterans and military families will have knocked on over 70,000 doors in Cincinnati and Cleveland. The team has been speaking to voters about Donald Trump’s broken promises to veterans, and how he isn’t fit to lead our military. They also highlight how Hillary Clinton is the stronger leader we need.

Founded in 2006, the mission of VoteVets.org Political Action Committee is to elect Veterans to public office, with a focus on Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, and hold public officials accountable for their words and actions that impact America’s 21st century troops and veterans. Though VoteVets.org PAC is non-partisan, candidates it backs must support VoteVets.org’s core mission and beliefs.
For Our Future is the largest issue based, community and partner driven mobilization campaign ever undertaken. It is running an unparalleled voter mobilization effort focused on turning out 10.5 Million voters in Florida, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
