Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from Park Forest police blotter reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.
An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. “Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted,” “Mr. Smith entered a guilty plea,” or “All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped.” We will do so upon receiving and verifying proof of such disposition.

A portable DVD player screen, which had been fastened to the driver’s seat head rest of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Westwood Drive, was reported stolen on October 11. The vehicle had been left unlocked, according to police.
A work bag that contained a laptop computer was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 300 block of Tamarack Street on October 15.
Marcus D. Jackson, 19, 4901 Hollywood Dr., Country Club Hills, was arrested on November 1 and processed on two warrants out of Cook County charging stolen automobile and burglary when police responded to the 400 block of Main Street after a caller reported a subject in a car had a gun. Police did recover a silver Colt .38 special revolver from a drawer in a kitchen of a residence nearby. Police determined that the gun was reported stolen out of Country Club Hills on July 7, 2016. The investigation continues.
Antoine L. Lindsey, 34, 22060 Scotty St., Richton Park, was arrested on November 5 and issued a local ordinance citation charging possession of cannabis when an officer traveling eastbound on Sauk Trail approaching Western Avenue observed the vehicle Lindsey was driving allegedly disobey the left turn traffic signal at that intersection, according to police.
Garcell D. James, 22, 16325 Lathrop Ave., Harvey, was arrested on November 5 and issued municipal tickets charging possession of cannabis and possession of paraphernalia when an officer observed a vehicle that had only one working headlight turn west onto North Street from Western Avenue, according to police. James was also charged with obstructing a peace officer and issued a traffic citation charging one headlamp. Jimmie L. Carradine, 21, 13044 S. Greenwood Ave., Chicago, a passenger in the vehicle, was also arrested and issued a municipal citation charging unlawful use of a weapon after police searched him and discovered brass knuckles on his person, according to police.
Tami M. Thomas, 36, 429 W. 15th St., Chicago Heights, was arrested on November 5 and issued traffic citations charging failure to display a front license plate, expired registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when an officer patrolling in the first block of North Street observed a vehicle that did not have a front license plate displayed, according to police.
Ronitia L. Beasley, 31, 5045 Brighton Ln., Richton Park, was arrested on November 6 and issued state citations charging speeding and driving while license was suspended, and additionally charged with obstruction of identification when an officer traveling westbound on Route 30 from Orchard Drive observed the vehicle Beasley was driving traveling eastbound on Route 30 from Indiana Street at a high rate of speed, according to police. The officer activated his front-mounted radar and confirmed that the vehicle was traveling 65 mph in a posted 40 mph zone, according to police.
The rear window of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Wildwood Drive was reported shattered on November 6.
An officer was dispatched to the 800 block of Cedar Ridge in Richton Park, on November 6 in reference to a report of a recovered stolen vehicle. When the officer arrived, he noticed that the vehicle in question did not have a village sticker. He checked the vehicle’s registration and observed that the vehicle had been reported as stolen out of Park Forest. The vehicle was towed and the victim notified.
A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Oakwood Street on November 6. The windows of the vehicle had been left down.
Thelma J. Jolliff, 44, 604 Farmview Ct., University Park, was arrested November 7 and charged with obstructing identification, no valid driver’s license, and improper lighting – one headlamp – when an officer traveling northbound on Western Avenue approaching 26th Street observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Western Avenue with only the driver’s side headlamp illuminated, according to police.
The rear window of a Bobcat loader parked in the 300 block of Waverly Street was reported shattered on November 7.
Isaac Alexander Alston, 20, 16323 Mozart Ave., Markham, was arrested on November 7 and issued municipal citations charging improper display of plate and possession of cannabis when an officer on patrol traveling south on Western Avenue from Algonquin Street observed a vehicle that did not have a front registration plate, according to police.
Anthony L. Nelson, 50, 445 W. 16th Pl., Chicago Heights, was arrested on November 7 and charged with retail theft when police responded to the Dollar General store, 10 Main Street, to investigate a report of retail theft that had just occurred.
Police were dispatched to a parking lot at the intersection of 26th Street and Western Avenue on November 7 to investigate a report of an abandoned vehicle. Police discovered a vehicle with temporary plates and a tow sticker posted on it. The vehicle was towed and listed as towed/abandoned in LEADS.
Briana D. Willis, 25, 584 W. 15th Pl., Chicago Heights, was arrested on November 7 and issued municipal citations charging no rear registration light and possession of drug paraphernalia when an officer patrolling in the area of Indiana Street and Orchard Drive observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Indiana Street that did not have a functioning rear registration plate light, according to police.
Police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Nokomis Street on November 8 to investigate a report of a possible attempted burglary. A resident had returned home and saw that an exterior screen of a bathroom window had been pushed open halfway. Police did not discover any signs of force to the window, nor did they discover any signs that anyone had entered the residence.
The front and rear driver’s side windows of a vehicle parked in the first block of South Orchard Drive were reported shattered on November 8.
Shannette V. Kizer, 24, 815 Pin Oak Ln., University Park, was arrested on November 10 and charged with driving on a suspended license, failure to dim headlights, and possession of cannabis when an officer who was in a stationary vehicle facing westbound on Sauk Trail near Meota Street (due to a recent traffic stop) observed a vehicle traveling westbound with its high intensity headlights on, according to police.
Marcel Deshaun Williams, 21, 4106 W. 216th St., Matteson, was arrested on November 10 and issued a local ordinance citation charging possession of cannabis when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Oswego Street to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle.
An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Marquette Street on November 11 to investigate a fire. Police observed a structure fire in the 200 block of Marquette Street. According to police, the east side of the residence was completely engulfed in flames and had spread to the roof of a neighboring house. The Park Forest Fire Department arrived on scene and took command. Police determined that the fire was suspicious in nature and the investigations division opened an investigation.
The side entry door of a garage in the 200 block of Mohawk Street was reported “kicked in” on November 12. Nothing was reported taken from the garage.
A U-Haul pickup truck, Arizona license plate AH19861AZ, was reported stolen from U-Haul, 2210 Western Avenue, on November 12. According to police, the vehicle had been rented on October 16, 2016, and was never returned. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
A garage door of a residence in the 100 block of Well Street was reported damaged by several dents on November 13.
Gary M. Manthei, 49, 324 Sangamon St., Park Forest, was arrested on November 14 and charged with aggravated DUI (class 2), driving with a revoked license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, disobeying a stop sign, and failure to signal. An officer traveling northbound on Blackhawk Drive approaching Shabbona Drive observed the vehicle Manthei was driving allegedly turn right from Blackhawk Drive onto Shabbona Drive without stopping at the stop sign, according to police. The vehicle appeared to be traveling too fast to make the turn, according to police, because the officer observed the vehicle turn wide, and could hear the tires of the vehicle squeal as the vehicle turned the corner.
The left rear passenger window of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Lakewood Boulevard was reported shattered by a large rock on November 17. Police recovered the rock from inside the vehicle.
