What An Oligarchy Looks Like: Donald Trump’s Cabinet

Donald Trump's Cabinet
Donald Trump is wild about the rich.

Blog Commentary-(ENEWSPF)- You need to be rich to qualify for Donald Trump’s cabinet. That’s just the sad truth.

Doesn’t seem like you’ll need much more — as far as qualifications go.

Besides money, you don’t seem to need any qualifications.

From our friends at Quartz: qz.com:

The 17 people who US president-elect Donald Trump has selected for his cabinet or for posts with cabinet rank have well over $9.5 billion in combined wealth, with several positions still unfilled. This collection of wealth is greater than that of the 43 million least wealthy American households combined—over one third of the 126 million households total in the US.

Affluence of this magnitude in a US presidential cabinet is unprecedented.

And there’s this:

It is worth noting that almost 13% of American households have zero or negative wealth because of debt, so we are adding together these households with those that have at least some wealth.

This is what an oligarchy looks like. And the more that Donald Trump courts Vladimir Putin, ignores the US Intelligence Community, and stumbles blindly along denying that such things like “conflicts of interest” can exist for the President of the United States, we must ask: what is Trump’s end game?

What exactly does Donald Trump want from the US presidency?

Putin will dump him, says Jonathan Capehart at the Washington Post:

What will Putin do to make Trump see that not everything that comes from Russia is love? How long will it take for Trump to realize that the bromance is over and was always a one-way affair? Or what happens if Trump channels Missy Elliott, who famously rapped in 1997, “I break up with him before he dump me”? No matter which scenario plays out, we know this much: The breakup will be on Twitter, and Trump will be disappointed and irritated, like every president before him.

What, exactly, is Trump’s end game?

Whatever it is, those of us in lower income brackets are not likely to benefit.

At all.

Where can I save my money?
