A Unique and Easy Way to Contact Your US Representative

Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–January 8, 2017

I wrote this as a comment on the Planned Parenthood article, but I think this information might benefit others as well who may want to contact their representative, senators, or even the President, but are leery that emails just get deleted and don’t want to go through the trouble of mailing a letter.

I know faxes are old fashioned, but I figured because they are probably still done the old-fashioned way (on paper) in the district office (at least), I sent a fax letter to Paul Ryan’s district office.  Here’s how to do it free and easily.  Use the website faxzero.com and send your letter as the cover page.  After you send it, you’ll get an email containing a link with your status page and you’ll get a confirmation email as well.  It’s just one more step than an email, but harder for them to just “delete.”  I’ve used this website many times when someone insisted on a fax instead of an emailed PDF of a document, for example, and it is trustworthy.  Just received:

FAX STATUS: SUCCESS!

Your fax (ID: #18350861) to Speaker Paul Ryan at 6087524711 has been delivered successfully at 2:18 AM Eastern Standard Time on January 8th, 2017.

Plus now I see they have a dedicated “email your congressperson, senator, etc.” page at faxzero.com/…   You don’t even need to have their number; it’s filled out for you.  All you need to do is enter your message.  You bet I bookmarked that page!  The pre-filled “Fax the President” link will probably come in very handy after January 20.

Note: As many have recently opined, sending a message to your Congressperson gets more attention if it received either on paper or by phone.  Just last week the power of the people was demonstrated when they demanded that the House reverse their wish to eliminate the House Ethics Office.  It’s often hard to get through to your Congressperson’s office by phone but sending your message by fax is easy and quick and as you’ll read, you don’t need a fax machine to do it (or if your like me and still have a fax machine sitting on your desk, it will give it some work to do!) We can make change happen.
