VoteVets Response to Report of Trump Transition Ordering Nuclear Security Chief, Deputy To Vacate Post With No Replacements Named

WASHINGTON –(ENEWSPF)–January 9, 2017.  According to a report in Gizmodo this afternoon, “The President-elect’s team instructed the head of the National Nuclear Security Administration and his deputy to clean out their desks when Trump takes office on January 20th,” without having nominated replacements to take their posts.

In response to the report, retired Major General Paul D. Eaton, senior adviser to VoteVets said:

“If reports are true that Donald Trump has asked our top nuclear security people to leave their posts on January 20th, without nominating their replacements, or scheduling their confirmation hearings, it would be negligence and malfeasance in office of the highest order.”
