Universal Principals in Landscape Design Lecture to be Discussed at Union Street Gallery on Feb. 4

CHICAGO HEIGHTS—(ENEWSPF)—February 2, 2017.  On Saturday, February 4, renowned landscape architect José L. Magán will give a lecture on ‘Universal Principals in Landscape Design’ at Union Street Gallery, 1527 Otto Boulevard in Chicago Heights.

The event will start with coffee and donuts at 9:15 a.m. and the lecture beginning at 10 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Universal design principles are typically applied in the creation of great outdoor spaces and shared by different design professions. We will review some of these principles such as symmetry and balance, contrast, proportion and scale, rhythm and repetition, and sequence and circulation. Then, if time allows we could see how the functional use, visual characteristics, and aesthetics of plants can be successfully applied to landscape design.
