#FightFearBuildPower: The Refugee Remix Rally

CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–February 20, 2017.  President Donald Trump plans to sign a new “Muslim Ban” order in the coming days, once again raising deep concerns about the intensified targeting of the Muslim community. High-profile federal immigration raids across the country have also resulted in tremendous anxiety and hardship for undocumented families of all backgrounds. Entering what President Trump called a “new era of justice”, many fear an all-too-familiar overpolicing in Black and Brown communities throughout America following the confirmation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

As we have for many years, IMAN continues to work through broad alliances like the United Congress of Community and Religious Organizations (UCCRO) to ensure that we remain united and engaged across all religious, racial and ethnic boundaries.

In light of all of this, join us in front of Trump Tower, 401 North Wabash, on Saturday, February 25th for #FightFearBuildPower: Refugee Remix Rally, and help ensure that all of our efforts and struggles remain connected. Come celebrate the creative brilliance of artists connected to the seven countries targeted by the President’s initial Muslim Ban, including Sudanese-American hip-hop artist Oddisee, Syrian-American vocalist Bassel and his band The Supernaturals, and Libyan-American rapper Khaled M. Their performances will be interspersed with testimonies from Chicago-based leaders.
