Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- A Western Avenue crash resulted in one man facing a DUI charge. Police report that a man was arrested and charged with a DUI following a crash on Western Avenue.

According to police, a traffic crash on Western Avenue on Tuesday, June 6, at about 5:30 p.m. resulted in an arrest on a DUI charge after the driver was reported to have failed field sobriety tests and showed signs of being under the influence of drugs.

The driver in question had rear-ended a truck, according to police, and his apparent impairment was first noticed by the driver of the other vehicle.

“While there were no injuries to either party,” police said in a Facebook post, “the incident illustrates that driving while impaired has real consequences. Choosing to use alcohol or drugs may be a personal choice, but that choice affects others when one gets behind the wheel.

“As always, we remind our followers that our criminal justice system affords defendants the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law,” police concluded the post.
