Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Theology on Tap, an opportunity for younger adults to gather to discuss Catholic matters of faith, will meet this Thursday, July 13.
St. Irenaeus will focus on the “Learn It” track, where participants will join together with parishes in the community for events focusing on how “each one of us can further develop a relationship with Jesus Christ and deepen our understanding of the Catholic faith,” the church says in a flyer.
The events will take place on the following Thursdays: July 13, 20, 27, and August 3, at 7:00 p.m.
The meeting place is The Loft Restaurant and Bar, 1336 Main Street, Crete, IL 60417.
This coming Thursday, the “Tap” discussion is titled, “Doing It My Way,” featuring speaker Wayne Smith. The topic focuses on the following: “I describe my abandonment of religion, and turning to my own pleasure, rejection of social norms and morality, and the destruction it caused.”

Do the words “learning about your faith” take you back to religion classes in the second grade? Although those classes (and the coloring books that come with them) are great, learning about faith as a young adult means exploring more about your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and developing that relationship as a basis for your faith. These Theology on Tap sessions will help guide you in your discovery of who God is and how He cares for you in your everyday life.
The Theology on Tap sessions that focus on growing in your faith will help you understand more about what it means to be a Catholic and how faith incorporates itself into everyone’s lives. Whether it’s why the Church goes pescaterian every Friday in Lent or what it means to get married in the Church as opposed to on a beach, we will cover the most relevant Catholic questions, answers, teachings, and learnings you can think of.
Service to others is God’s love in action. The Archdiocese of Chicago is thrilled to offer service based Theology on Tap sessions where young adults have the opportunity to build relationships with one another and with God. During these Theology on Tap sessions, parishes throughout the archdiocese will host service activities followed by a meal and time for personal reflection. In this way, you will serve just as God has done, is doing, and will do for us in our communities.
