Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Editor’s Note: We continue to get “in sync” with the PFPD regarding reporting of work done by police. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. “Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted,” “Mr. Smith entered a guilty plea,” or “All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped.” We will do so upon receiving and verifying proof of such disposition.

Rydell Covington-Ewing, 27, 3438 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on June 30 and charged with operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, under the influence of alcohol, and alcohol concentration in blood or breath more than .08. An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Sauk Trail at approximately 1:30 AM in reference to a report of a male subject allegedly sleeping in a vehicle that stopped in the drive through of Taco Bell, according to police. The vehicle Covington-Ewing was driving was seized per local ordinance, according to police.
Miranda Jackson, 31, 705 Burnham Dr., University Park, was arrested on July 30 and charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a BAC greater than .08, and improper lane usage when an officer was dispatched to the area of Western Avenue and the Canadian National Railroad tracks to investigate a report of a reckless driver. Report stated that a vehicle was traveling south on Western Avenue, weaving in and out of its lane, according to police. Police determined that Jackson had a BAC of 0.172, according to the report.
Mateo S. Williams, 20, 805 S. 15th Ave., Apt. 2F, Maywood, was arrested on August 1 and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Green Street to investigate a report of a suspicious auto.
Charles E. Jarvis Jr., 7558 S. Paxton Ave., Chicago, was arrested on August 2 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC greater than .08, illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor, and improper parking on a roadway. An officer stopped at a red traffic signal on Sauk Trail at Shabbona Drive, facing westbound, observed a vehicle also stopped at a red traffic signal, facing east bound on Sauk Trail at the intersection of Westwood Drive. According to police, the traffic signal turned green and the officer accelerated. However the vehicle remained completely stopped. The officer conducted a U-turn and positioned his squad behind the stopped vehicle which was stopped slightly crooked and over the center dotted line, according to police. The officer approached the passenger side of the vehicle and observed the driver, later identified as Jarvis, apparently asleep, according to police. Jarvis had a BAC of 0.122, according to police.
Joe F. Robinson, 22, 2 Gibson Rd., Park Forest, was arrested on August 2 and charged with domestic battery, criminal damage to property, and unlawful interference with the reporting of domestic violence when police responded to a 911 call in the first block of Gibson Road to conduct a well-being check.
Terrel M. Williams, 36, 19440 Glenwood Rd., Apt. 110, Chicago Heights, was arrested on August 5 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (BAC greater than 0.8), driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding 26-34 mph over the posted limit, a suspending registration non–insurance violation, and expired registration. An officer patrolling in a vehicle was parked in the ComEd power driveway at the south east corner of route 30 and Indiana Street. The officer heard an approaching vehicle west of her location on Route 30 which appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer heard engine acceleration. Using radar, the officer determined that the vehicle was traveling 73 mph in the posted 40 mph zone, according to police. The driver, Williams, had a BAC reading of 0.112, according to police.
Clifford Jordan III, 22, 648 Sullivan Ln., University Park, and Kyle A. Russell. 25, 22411 Butterfield Rd., Apt. 104, Richton Park, were arrested on August 5 and charged with two counts each of resisting/obstructing a peace officer. A number of officers from Park Forest, Richton Park, Matteson, Olympia Fields, and Chicago Heights were in the area of Sauk Trail and Blackhawk Drive regarding the arrest of a female subject armed with a two-pronged barbecue fork who was allegedly swinging the fork at both officers and residents. (See previous report here.) After assisting Park Forest Fire Department paramedics with transportation of the female to a hospital, police observed Russell and Jordan yelling obscenities at officers while continuing to stand in the middle of the roadway. The officers ordered the two men to move out of the roadway as they were obstructing the traffic lane, according to police. Both subjects allegedly refused to move and continued shouting at officers, according to police. At one point, Clifford Jordan allegedly yelled to officers, “We got guns to,” while attempting to place his hand down his waistband, according to police. Officers approached both men and forced them to the ground. While officers attempted to place Russell and Jordan into handcuffs, both subjects allegedly refused to give officers their hands by placing their hands under their stomachs, according to police. Kyle A. Russell was additionally charged with possession of cannabis.
Najee J.A. Gay, 29, 31 Brook Park Ln., Park Forest, was arrested on August 5 and charged with one misdemeanor count of criminal trespass to a motor vehicle. A Community Service Officer patrolling in the first block of Brook Park Lane observed that a vehicle in that area was flagged in a law enforcement database as stolen. As the officer approached the residence where the vehicle was parked, a female subject, later identified as Najee Gay, entered the vehicle and drove away. The officer initiated a traffic stop. Police confirmed that the vehicle was a rental but had not been returned.
