Domestic Battery Charges Top Police Reports: Aug. 29-Sept. 10

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Domestic battery tops the charges in police reports since August 29. ENEWSPF continues to bring more complete coverage of police reports for our readers.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Charge: Failure To Register as a Sex Offender

David L. Borah, 45, 13237 Forrestville Ave., Chicago, was arrested on August 29 and charged with one felony count of failure to register as a sex offender. He was also issued traffic citations charging failure to wear a seatbelt, no front license plate, and no proof of insurance. Officers patrolling in the area of Westwood Drive and Orchard Drive pulled alongside a vehicle and observed that the driver, later identified as Borah, was not wearing his seatbelt, according to police. While checking his identification, police were advised by SouthCom that Borah was sex offender who was overdue for his registration, according to police.

Unlawful Possess of a Controlled Substance

Corey A. Robertson, 26, 722 Blackhawk Dr., Park Forest, was arrested on August 29 and charged with one felony count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and additionally charged with unlawful possession of cannabis when an officer traveling southbound on Western Avenue approaching Steger Road was passed by a vehicle which only had one taillight illuminated, according to police. Robertson was a passenger in the vehicle.

Battery

Antonio Adams, 20, 2646 Commercial Ave., South Chicago Heights, was arrested on August 30 and charged with battery, and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when police responded to the 200 block of Allegheny Street regarding a report of a man with a gun.

Obstructing Identification

Enan A. Harper, 19, 1408 E. 76th St., Chicago, was arrested on August 30 in the 200 block of Somonauk Drive, when an officer was informed that Harper, currently on house arrest in the 200 block of Somonauk Drive, Park Forest, was wanted for obstructing identification regarding a previous incident in Park Forest, according to police.

Speeding, Possession of Cannabis

Albert R. Tyler, 24, 3844 Marilyn Dr., Richton Park, was arrested on August 31 and issued a citation charging speeding and a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when an officer performing stationary radar checks of eastbound traffic on Lincoln Highway from the Metric Rail overpass observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the center lane at what appeared to be a high rate of speed, passing vehicles that were on its left and right, according to police. The officer activated the mounted radar which indicated that the vehicle was traveling 64 mph in the posted 40 mph zone, according to police. Tyler was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, according to police. The vehicle was seized and towed under local ordinance violation.

Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon

Anthony S. Taylor, 27, 1954 Beacon Blvd., Chicago Heights, was arrested on September 1 and charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of 500 to 2000 grams of cannabis with an intent to deliver. Officers conducting a nighttime DUI saturation patrol on Western Avenue observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Western Avenue near Main Street slowed in traffic without signaling and nearly came to a stop in the right lane where no stop signs or traffic signals were present, according to police.

The vehicle slowly traveled in the right lane at approximately 10 to 15 mph before regaining speed, according to police. As the vehicle reached Apple Lane, it signaled for a right turn and turned onto Apple Lane. After turning onto Apple Lane, the vehicle signaled for a left turn as it passed Oak Lane. The vehicle then slowed down, past Oak Lane, then slowed as if it was going to turn into a driveway in the first block of Apple Lane.

After continuing to observe what police called “erratic driving” and a lane violation, a traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle on Lester Road. Upon approaching the vehicle, an officer smelled a strong odor of both fresh cannabis and a fruity fragrance emanating from within the vehicle, according to police. The officer observed a mist moving through the front area of the vehicle and also that the passenger, Anthony Taylor, with what appeared to be a bottle of fragrance spray in his lap. Furthermore, according to police, the radio console and dashboard were moist with a spray.

Police recovered a .25 caliber semi-automatic firearm inside the vehicle. One round was chambered and there were six rounds in the magazine, according to police.

The driver of the vehicle, Juanicia E. Jones, 24, 4095 Appleby Lane, Richton Park, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis, 500 to 2000 grams, and improper lane use.

DUI

Walter S. Carlos-El, 53, 186 Birch St., Park Forest, was arrested on September 2 and charged with improper lane usage and driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was additionally issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis. At 1:13 AM, police observed a vehicle traveling west on 26th Street toward Western Avenue at an unusually slow speed, according to police. The vehicle made a left turn and began to travel south on Western Avenue. The officer who observed the vehicle turned and followed. According to police, the vehicle was weaving within its own lane and traveling at approximately 20 miles per hour in a posted 35 miles per hour zone. Then, according to police, the vehicle began to straddle the solid yellow center line with the entire width of the vehicle’s driver side tires crossing the line for several seconds. The driver was identified as Carlos-El, police said.

Domestic Battery

Treymane N. Gray, 42, 19409 Elm Dr., Country Club Hills, was arrested on September 2 and charged with domestic battery when police responded to the first block of Wayne Court in reference to a panic alarm.

Criminal Damage to Property

Johnnie H. Wilson, 39, 22943 Valley Dr., Richton Park, was arrested on September 3 and charged with criminal damage to property, resisting a peace officer, improper lane usage, and expired registration, after police responded to a domestic call in the first block of Cherry Street. While on their way to that residence, police were advised by dispatch that the alleged offender broke a window of the victim’s residence and fled north on Cherry Street in a vehicle. Wilson was the driver of the vehicle, according to police.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Tiwan J. Raybon, 29, 1012 E. 194th St., Glenwood, was arrested on September 5 and charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving while license was suspended, and driving over the posted speed limit when officers who were participating in a DUI check observed a vehicle traveling east on Lincoln Highway from North Orchard Drive traveling 54 miles per hour in a posted 40 miles per hour zone, according to police.

Driving While License Suspended

Brandi P. Cowan, 22, 2804 Forest Lane, Lansing, was arrested on September 5 and issued citations charging disobeying a no passing zone, speeding, driving while license was suspended, and no proof of insurance. Additionally, Cowan was issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis. An officer parked along Monee Road near Blackhawk Drive observed two vehicles traveling southwest on Monee Road. The officer observed the second vehicle pass the first vehicle on the left side in a posted no passing zone, according to police. Using a radar device, the officer determined that the passing vehicle was traveling 54 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone, according to police.

Driving While License Suspended

Tkeyah Yamini, 29, 4552 Heartland Dr., Richton Park, was arrested on September 6 and charged with driving while license was suspended and obstructing identification when an officer traveling westbound on Sauk Trail from Windsor Street observed a vehicle that appeared to have no registration, according to police.

Domestic Battery

Danielle Randle, 22, 420 Winnebago St., Park Forest, was arrested on September 6 and charged with domestic battery and resisting a peace officer when police responded to the 400 block of Winnebago Street to investigate a report of domestic battery.

Domestic Battery

Alicia N. Johnson-Medrano, 19, 16720 W. Apache Dr., Lockport, was arrested on September 7 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 400 block of Forest Boulevard regarding a report of a disturbance.

Domestic Battery

Stephanie Williams, 31, 13442 W. North Shore Avenue, Chicago, was arrested on September 9 and charged with domestic battery and criminal trespass to residence when police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Western Avenue to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.

Resisting Arrest

Kahil Banks, 27, 137 Interocean Dr., South Chicago Heights, was arrested on September 9 and charged with one count of resisting arrest when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Grant Street to investigate a report of an unwanted subject.

Criminal Trespass to Real Property

Welborn Williams, 54, 2005 S. 24th St., Broadview, IL, was arrested on September 10 and charged with one count of criminal trespass to real property when police responded to the 400 block of North Orchard Drive regarding a report of an unwanted subject.
