Tall Grass Arts Association’s New Exhibit ‘Mark of the Hand’ Opens on Friday, September 29

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—September 25, 2017. Tall Grass Arts Association exhibit ‘Mark of the Hand’ opens on Friday, September 29 and will run through Saturday, November 4.  A reception will be held on Friday, October 5 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Both the exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

‘Mark of the Hand’ is a juried exhibition of original artwork at Tall Grass Gallery. From prehistory, humans have told their story by literally leaving marks with their hands. Direct mark making and hand forming are the theme of the art show. ‘Mark of the Hand’ will include two and three-dimensional art which celebrates the legacy of traditional, pre-1800 art tools and processes. The artwork will show evidence of being made directly by the human hand. Media includes painting, drawing, woodcuts, collage, sculpture, ceramics, metals, fiber and glass.

Exhibiting artists include: Marcus Alleyne, Connie Andrews, Richard Benoit, Mary Bookwalter, randy Buvala, Katie Conroy, James Bowden, Susan Brauer, Bronwyn Elkuss, Linda Emmerman, Elizabeth Fanesi, June Finnegan, Gayle Fisher, Marjorie Fisher, Jamie Foster, Robert Fritz, Anitra Frazier, Lea Goldman, Linda Hancock, Eric Hazeltine, Set Hicks, Jack Kapost, Tammy Kordik, Margaret McKerral, Janice Meister, Elana Morone, Erin Cramer, Sarah Peak Covery, Ayanna Proctor, Lynn Ruedger, Cassandra Swierenga and Carla Toth.

Curators of the exhibit are Gail Otterson and Bill Wild.

Tall Grass Arts Association is located at 367 Artists Walk in DownTown Park Forest.
