Congresswoman Robin Kelly visited Edgar Allan Poe Classical Elementary School to congratulate students, faculty, parents and staff on earning a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School award.
“Thanks to team work, core values and a tireless commitment to student success, Poe has earned this high honor,” said Congresswoman Kelly. “Poe provides an exceptional educational experience and truly embodies its mission of ‘learn, lead and serve with respect, effort and pride.’ We’re very proud of the accomplishments!”
The National Blue Ribbon designation recognizes Poe Classical School as an exemplary, high-performing school. Poe is one of only 342 schools to receive this recognition from 150,000 schools that were nominated. Just 25 Illinois schools received this competitive designation in 2017.
