To keep track of the ever-changing status of U.S. diplomacy with North Korea, the Center for American Progress has launched an interactive feature that monitors the progress—or lack thereof—of efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula.

The North Korean Diplomacy Scorecard is a one-stop shop for current information on where things stand with negotiations; the positive steps taken since direct talks between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and President Donald Trump; and the troubling moves North Korea continues to make in regard to reducing military tensions and denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula.

The scorecard has six categories that are shaded green, yellow, or red, depending, respectively, on whether there is actual progress, signs of progress, or no progress at all. These include confidence-building gestures; nuclear weapons program; weapons of mass destruction programs; the state of military tensions; sanctions and incentives; and human rights.

The tracker will be updated as events change. For example, it documents North Korea’s continued production of fissile material, which could allow the country to add 30 to 60 nuclear weapons to its arsenal.
