CHICAGO – (ENEWSPF)—June 30, 2017. Indivisible Chicago released the following statement tonight in response to the Trump Administration’s demand for voter data and the voting history of everyone in Illinois and across the country:
“Indivisible Chicago opposes this un-American request in the strongest terms and urges Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White to join Secretaries of State across the country in publicly denying any request for Illinois voter rolls and registration. This indefensible request strongly indicates that the Trump Administration and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, the Vice Chairman of the so-called “election commission”, are actively working to validate the false notion that millions voted illegally in the 2016 election. Indivisible Chicago stands resolute against any effort to disenfranchise voters and we call on all of our elected officials to join us in opposition to this effort.”
