12 Year Old Multiple Vandalism, Robbery Suspect Arrested


Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— A 12 year old Park Forest boy was taken into custody on October 3 at the Park Forest Police Station and charged in connection with multiple instances of vandalism throughout the village. He allegedly told police that several months ago he broke over approximately 20 windows in his neighborhood with a BB gun, rocks, or his fists. He allegedly stated he was sometimes by himself, but was usually with one of his friends.  When police showed him a map of Park Forest and asked him to look at several different addresses where windows had been broken, he allegedly began identifying numerous homes throughout Park Forest. 

According to police reports, he allegedly pointed to a residence in the 300 block of Indiana and allegedly stated he remembered breaking the rear window of the residence with either a rock or his fist.  He pointed to a residence in the 400 block of Sandburg and allegedly stated he remembered breaking the rear window of the residence.  He further allegedly stated that he dropped some of his homework when he ran from the scene.  He pointed to a residence in the 300 block of North Orchard and allegedly stated he remembers breaking the garage window on two separate occasions.  He pointed to a residence in the 200 block of Berry and allegedly stated he remembered breaking a window with his hand.  He pointed to a residence in the 400 block of Sandburg and stated he remembered breaking the window.  He stated he believed he threw a rock.  He pointed to a residence in the 300 block of Early and stated he remembered breaking the window.  He stated he could not remember every house or garage where he and his friends had allegedly broken, but stated they were all within his neighborhood and during the same time frame, October through December of 2006.  He allegedly pointed to 165 Indiana, Indiana School, and stated he remembers breaking the school’s window with a friend using a BB gun.

The juvenile has been charged with three counts of residential burglary, one count of robbery, and one count of criminal damage to state-supported property.
