1950s Museum Open Saturdays 1-3

Now that you have read about us in eNews and in the Trbune, be sure to come by and check out the museum in person!  The classroom is decorated for a 1950s Valentine’s Day party, and there are Valentine’s to look at on the main floor as well.  Fifty-two people attended our Open House on Saturday February 2, and really enjoyed the experience.  We ask a donation of $5 for adults; children 12 and under are free with a paying adult.  Your donation helps preserve history in Park Forest.  For those who can’t get to the second floor, we have photographs of the classroom on the main floor.  Be sure to go to our Historical Society news section on the front page and read about our February 10 program on the history of the Charles E. Gavin Foundation.  We hope you will come out to hear about the incredible work this Chicago Heights-Park Forest Organization has done, and still does in our communities and beyond.  Also, check out our appeal for volunteers to help with the work of the society–especially helping to show the museum to visitors.  Three people signed up to volunteer on February 2.  It is really enjoyable to share memories with the visitors and to share the history of this unique village while you do it.
