Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The company reportedly mulled closing its busy Park Forest location. Instead, they renovated, and they’re staying open with a fresh new interior and added inventory. Tuesday, Family Dollar announced the Grand Re-Opening of the anchor store at Orchard Park Plaza.
The store was refurbished, scrubbed from top to bottom, has fresh paint inside, and a redesigned interior with vertical instead of horizontal shelves. The new layout gives employees a clear line of sight from the building’s entrance to the rear and makes it easier for customers to find items.
And the store now offers more items than it did before its renovation. Expect some special offerings this July 4.
Family Dollar has consistently been one of the Village of Park Forest’s top sales tax generators for well over a decade.

Family Dollar, a leading small format and convenience retailer, has announced plans for a renovated store’s grand re-opening in Park Forest.
In addition to providing everyday low prices and a broad assortment of necessities, the renovated store will now include $1.00 Dollar Tree merchandise, additional freezers and coolers and an expanded selection of food, beauty and essentials, household products, and seasonal items.There will be a grand re-opening celebration for the community from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. The event will feature gift basket raffles, giveaways, free samples, and family fun entertainment. In addition, the first 50 customers on Saturday will receive a gift card and reusable shopping bag.
“Family Dollar is proud to be a part of the Park Forest community and we are excited to welcome existing and new customers to our newly renovated store,” said Jim Van Slyke, Family Dollar spokesperson. “The refreshed store will provide even greater values and convenience to our shoppers.”
