BB Gun Car Vandal Suspects Arrested

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Police arrested two men suspected of shooting BB gun pellets that resulted in damage to several automobiles in the south area of Park Forest earlier in the month.

On March 21, at 12:45 a.m., Officer Morache responded to a residence in the 100 block of Nanti Street to investigate a call of two juveniles who were possibly armed with guns. Upon arrival, Officer Morache heard noises, which sounded like BB guns being fired, coming from the backyard of one of the houses. The officer went to the backyard and found two subjects, later identified as Marc J. Maxfield, 17, 109 Nanti St., Park Forest, and Imari V. Henry, 17, 319 Springfield St., Park Forest, in possession of BB guns. While Officer Morache was speaking with the two, Officer Studer arrived on the scene. Officer Studer observed a vehicle parked in front of the residence matching the description of a vehicle wanted in relation to several criminal damage to property offenses involving a BB gun throughout the neighborhood and in other neighborhoods in Park Forest.

According to police, Maxfield told them that on March 15, he was in the vehicle in question with Imari Henry. Henry was allegedly driving. While on Shabbona Drive, Maxfield allegedly said he saw a vehicle parked in front of a residence, and related that his brother had been feuding with a person that lives in that house. Police say he told them he had his brothers BB gun with him, and as they drove past, he allegedly shot the back window of the vehicle, shattering it. Police say he told them that he allegedly fired several more BBs as they drove down the street, striking vehicles and houses, according to police.

Marc J. Maxfield and Imari V. Henry were charged with three counts of felony criminal damage to property in Will County. In addition, the two were charged with misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property in Cook County in connection with the alleged damage to other vehicles. Maxfield faces two misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property, and Henry is facing five misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property.
