BMW Driver Shoots At Fleeing Car

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— A driver pursuing a car on Sauk Trail last Friday allegedly shot a gun at the vehicle he was chasing. While no one was injured, a bullet pierced a door of the victim’s car.

Police were dispatched to the Executive Car Wash parking lot in reference to a reckless discharge of a firearm on December 14.  Upon arrival, Officer Mannino observed a car in the parking lot with a large bullet hole in the rear passenger-side door of the vehicle.

The owner of the vehicle reported that he was driving the vehicle eastbound on Sauk Trail from Richton Park.  While stopped at the light at Sauk Trail and Blackhawk Street, he observed a navy blue BMW 745i parked near a gas pump at the Marathon Gas Station.  According to the report, a light skinned black male and a white male were standing outside of the vehicle, and the black male was holding a large chrome handgun.  The male waved a hand gun at the driver and his occupants, and yelled an unknown comment at them, according to the police report.

When the light turned green, the driver continued eastbound on Sauk Trail.  At that time, the blue BMW sped out of the Marathon and began driving next to the victim’s vehicle.  The driver said he sped up in an attempt to make distance between his vehicle and the BMW, but the BMW maintained its position.

As the driver approached Indianwood on Sauk Trail, he said he heard a shot fired from the BMW.  He believes the driver of the other vehicle fired the shot.

He had turned northbound on Indianwood and drove his vehicle to Executive Car Wash where he contacted police.

Police located a .45 caliber shell casing on eastbound Sauk Trail just west of Indianwood Blvd.  The incident was turned over to the Investigations Division.
