Will County , IL–(ENEWSPF)– An individual walking through a Forest Preserve in unincorporated Will County discovered the body of a man hanging from a tree Thursday, the victim of an apparent suicide. According to Park Forest Village Manager Tom Mick, the investigation is being headed up by the Will County Forest Preserve Police.

Deputy Police Chief John Mead of the Will County Forest Preserve District said the identity of the man and the cause of death are still undetermined, but it did not appear to be a homicide.  A Coroner’s inquest was scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday.

The body, described only as that of a white male between the ages of 45 and 55, had been in that location for “at least a few weeks,” according to Mr. Mick, who also stressed that suicide has not yet been confirmed as the cause of death.

As of late Sunday evening, there was no final report yet from Will County Coroner Patrick K. O’Neil.
