Bullet Fired Through Window on Hickory

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— A bullet was fired through the bedroom window of a house in the 200 block of Hickory on March 16. Luckily, the resident was not home at the time.

The resident reported returning home late Sunday evening on March 16 and discovering a hole in his bedroom window shade. He didn’t think much about it at the time, and went to sleep. The next morning he rolled up the window shade and discovered holes through the double pane window and adjacent walls inside his house.

He called the police.

Officer Kessler responded and observed the outside double pane window had holes in it consistent with damage from gunfire. The projectile continued north through the master bedroom wall into a second bedroom, and entered the wall above the closet. The bullet appeared to hit the back bedroom closet wall before coming to rest on the closet shelf.

Officer Kessler recovered and inventoried the bullet. Corporal Sheets also responded on this call. According to his report, the bullet was likely fired from the street in front of the house.
