Catalytic Converter Stolen at 211th St. Metra Parking Lot

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Police are investigating a complaint of the theft of a catalytic converter which had occurred early last week in the 211th Street Metra parking lot.

According to police, on Monday, August 4, at approximately 6:45 a.m., the alleged victim parked her vehicle in the 211th Street Metra parking lot. Upon her return from work at approximately 5:30 p.m., she started her vehicle and heard a loud rumbling sound as if the muffler had gone bad. On Wednesday, August 6, she went to her dealer and was advised that the noise she was hearing was due to the fact that someone had cut out and removed the catalytic converter from underneath the vehicle.

The victim contacted her insurance company and was advised to file a police report.

Considering the make and model of the car, the cost to replace the catalytic converter was estimated at $1500 plus the cost of labor.
